This temperature warning light comes on when the engine is overheating or in other words, the engine is running at a very high temperature. Most car engines operate between 195 and 225 degrees Farenheight. Temperatures above the peak normal operating temperature is considered to be overheating .This mostly happen with the issues in the cooling system. If your vehicle's cooling system is working properly, heating problems will happen only rarely.  However, a problem with the cooling system or low coolant can cause the engine to overheat, which leads to serious engine damaging

Failed Thermostat
Faulty Water Pump
Damaged or Obstructed Radiator
Inoperative Cooling Fan

Is it okay to drive with the temperature light on?


Driving a car with the temperature light on, is not recommended. This will only cause further damage and can lead to expensive repairs. You should stop the engine and let it cool down for at least 30 mins before attempting to start it again.  








What to do next when the temperature waring light comes?


If the light comes while you are driving stop the car as soon as possible and turn off the engine. Let the engine cool down for 20 to 30 minutes before checking the coolant. Once the engine is cool enough, get a rag and keep it over the radiator cap. s important to be careful when checking the coolant as the steam can burn you if it’s still too hot. If you find that the problem is low fluid levels, you can safely refill the container with water so that you can head to a service center for a more thorough check-up.
